The Dionysus is an all weather vessel capable of making long offshore passages in comfort and safety.
We have exacting standards in respect to quality construction, reliability, meticulous maintenance and professional crewing.

Specifications:

Dionysus is 60ft LOA, 55 ft LWL, 15ft 4" beam, has a moderate draught of 7ft' 4" and displaces 33 tons. All her ballast is outside - 9 1/4 tons of lead in the keel.

The hull planking is out of 2" heart kauri, single skin over laminated frames. The decks are beautiful laid teak 2" thick and the deck house, wheel house and upper deck trim are all out of solid teak especially imported from Burma.

One of the most attractive features is the large upholstered seat under the overhang of the wheelhouse. It can be closed off with transparent screens or left completely open. It is a wonderful place to sit in bad weather without having to go below and with the screens furled it is pleasant on hot days.

The spacious saloon with all leather upholstery seats 6 for dinner.

Dionysus comfortably sleeps 5 in 2 double cabins, one with a single bunk. Two more can be accommodated in the saloon if required. For day or evening cruises Dionysus can take up to 20 passengers.

The auxiliary motor is a model 6L3B Gardner diesel of 175hp at 1200 rpm driving a 42" propeller. Top speed under power is 10 knots.

History:
When it was launched in 1970, the Dionysus was the most luxurious yacht launched in New Zealand for a long time. It was built in Auckland by P. Vos Ltd to the requirements of a New Zealand yachtsman who ran a successful shipping business in the Pacific Islands.
